Wigan woman has ear bitten off stopping pub brawl
A 26-year-old woman had part of her ear bitten off by another woman after trying to break up a pub fight in Greater Manchester, police have said.
She was pulled to the floor trying to intervene in a melee between two groups of men at the Hare and Hounds, Golborne Road, Wigan, at 00:50 GMT.
The victim was taken to hospital where she underwent surgery on her ear.
A 35-year-old woman from Wigan has been arrested by police on suspicion of wounding with intent.
Det Ch Insp Howard Millington, of Wigan CID, said: "This was a shocking attack on a woman who was simply trying to break up a fight.
"She has been undergoing surgery on the ear but she is going to be scarred for life."
