Manchester Piccadilly Station reopens after train fire

Services through Manchester Piccadilly are running normally after a train fire forced a partial evacuation.

The service to Llandudno caught fire at 17:50 GMT on Thursday, with the smoke leading to the closure.

Firefighters said no-one was injured and the train, which was standing at platform 14, was empty by the time appliances arrived.

Fire investigators believe hydraulic oil may have been sprayed on to the diesel engine causing fuel to ignite.
