Charlotte Fox killed in crash with lorry in Leigh

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to the A579 Atherleigh Way, in Leigh, at about 07:50 GMT, after reports a lorry and scooter had crashed.

Charlotte Louise Fox, 23, who was from the area, suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene.

Police said a 52-year-old man was arrested and held for questioning.

In a tribute, Charlotte's mother said: "Charlotte was a much loved daughter, grandaughter, sister and auntie.

"She had recently started work as an assistant manager for Superdrug having recently graduated from the Superdrug management scheme, of which she was very proud.

"Charlotte enjoyed karate and was a black belt 2nd Dan. She also instructed juniors at her club. She enjoyed roller skating with her father and motorcycling."

Police have asked anyone with any information to contact them.
