Bury teenage girl sentenced for razor face slash attack

A teenager who slashed a girl's face with a razor blade in Greater Manchester has been sentenced to three years and four months in jail.

Sabby Mir, 18, was attacked by Aroosa Jannisar, 17, in an underpass off Haymarket Street, Bury, on 26 May.

Jannisar admitted wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm at Bolton Crown Court.

The court heard Ms Mir needed more than 400 stitches and specialist surgery after the attack.

The teenager said she had been left traumatised by the incident.

"When I'm alone in my bed is the worst time. My family think I am asleep.

"I just cry in my bed. At night I just stay up until I fall asleep.

"I just can't figure out why she did this.

"Her punishment will never be enough, all my life I will have to live with these scars on my face."
