A man has been charged with setting alight BBC Radio Manchester's radio car during last summer's riots.

The car, along with a reporter's vehicle, was torched at Salford Shopping City on 9 August.

Zac Challinor, 23, of no fixed abode, has been charged with arson, violent disorder, burglary and attempted burglary.

He was due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, a police spokesman said.
