Man, 23, jailed for torching BBC Radio Manchester car

A man who set fire to a BBC Radio Manchester car in rioting last year has been jailed for more than five years.

The radio car was torched along with a reporter's car at Salford Shopping City on 9 August.

Zac Challinor, 23, of no fixed abode, admitted arson and burglary and was convicted of violent disorder.

Manchester Crown Court jailed Challinor for five years six months - three years for arson, a year for burglary and 18 months for violent disorder.
