Extradited woman charged with abduction of girl

A woman has been charged with child abduction after a girl was taken out of the UK in 2008.

Helen Gavaghan, 34, has been charged with one count of child abduction following extradition proceedings in Canada.

The girl was four when she was taken from Manchester on 9 December 2008.

She was reunited with her father in September 2011 after being found in Montreal nearly three years after she was taken.
