Man charged with Greater Manchester armed robberies

A 37-year-old man has been charged with a series of armed robberies across Greater Manchester.

Anthony Horrocks, of no fixed abode, is charged with four counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and four counts of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

The robberies all took place in January at several banks and a chemist's.

Mr Horrocks will appear before Tameside Magistrates' Court later.

The charges relate to a robbery with a firearm at three banks in Stalybridge, Ashton-under-Lyne and Oldham, a robbery with a firearm at a chemist's in Hyde and an attempted robbery with a firearm at a bank in Ashton-under-Lyne.
