A man has been remanded in custody in connection with the discovery of two suspicious devices at a flat in Greater Manchester.

Darren John Crawley, 41, of Grasmere Crescent, Winton, is accused of the possession of an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose.

Homes were evacuated and bomb disposal experts called in after police raided a flat in Grasmere Crescent on Saturday.

He has been sent for trial at Minshull Street Crown Court on 20 February.

A 34-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man who were arrested under the Explosive Substances Act have been bailed until 30 March while police carry out further inquiries.
