The family of a woman who died after she was hit by a lorry as she pushed her son across a road in a buggy has paid tribute to her.

Dawn Graves, 25, was crossing Bury Road in Breightmet, Bolton, at about 12:25 BST on Thursday when she was struck.

She died at the scene but her one-year-old son survived and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Her family said Ms Graves, who was due to get married in August, was "a loving and caring daughter, mum and fiancee."

They said: "She leaves behind a step-daughter, daughter and son, who all loved her dearly.

"We have been left devastated and in complete shock by Dawn's death."

Sgt Matt Bailey-Smith, from Greater Manchester Police, said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.

"They are receiving support from a specially trained officer."
