Manchester protest over Anthony Grainger police shooting

The family of Anthony Grainger, who was shot dead by police in the Cheshire village of Culcheth in March, have held a protest in Manchester city centre.

The 36-year-old from Bolton was in a stolen car when he was shot through the windscreen by a firearms officer from Greater Manchester Police during a planned operation.

Mr Grainger's mother Marina Schofield says her son had been "executed".

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
