A man has been charged with manslaughter after a Wigan man, found unconscious on a street, died.

Francis Farrell, 56, was found with head injuries at about 4:10 BST on 17 June in Frog Lane, Wigan. He died in hospital three days later.

David Horner, 23, from Scholes, Wigan, is due before magistrates later.

A 22-year-old man, who was also arrested, has now been released without charge. Police continue to appeal for information surrounding the death.

Mr Farrell was seen leaving the Wiend Bar in the town centre at about 03:50 BST and was then captured on CCTV walking down Frog Lane a few minutes later.

In a statement, Mr Farrell's family described him as a good son, brother and uncle who "kept himself to himself".
