Motorcyclist killed in Greater Manchester road crash

A 29-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a car in Greater Manchester.

The crash happened in Clayton on Ashton New Road, near the Schofield Street junction, at 19:55 BST on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with multiple injuries but has subsequently died, police said.

The road was closed for investigations but re-opened earlier. Inquiries are ongoing into how the crash happened.
