Cocaine find in Salford nursery play area

Cocaine has been found in a play area at a nursery in Salford, sparking a police inquiry.

Officers were called to the Sure Start centre in St Aidan's Grove, Lower Kersal, after a report that drugs had been found at 11.25 BST on 30 August.

They recovered a snap bag containing white powder, which has been forensically tested and found to be cocaine.

Police said there was no indication of drug dealing at the centre.

Det Ch Insp Dave Riddick said: "We understand that any parent will be concerned by this, but I want to reassure them that no child was harmed.

"Also there is no indication that anyone has been using or dealing drugs in the centre's grounds."
