Third man arrested over Ramsbottom serious assault

A third man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault which left a man in a critical condition in hospital in Greater Manchester.

Officers found the 32-year-old man unconscious at the junction of Bridge Street and Bolton Street in Ramsbottom at about 23:00 BST on Friday.

The 19-year-old man in custody has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Two men arrested on Saturday over the attack have been bailed by police.

The victim was punched to the floor and then punched and kicked in the head, said police.

He remains in intensive care at Salford Royal.
