Man 'falls from roof' after fleeing car crash in Bolton

A man has been critically injured in Bolton after fleeing from the scene of a traffic collision, police have said.

It is believed the 21-year-old had climbed onto the roof of a block of flats on Bradford Street and fell off.

The incident followed a collision at 03:00 BST between a Volkswagen Golf and a taxi on the same street.

Police said two passengers in the Golf were injured in the crash, but fled the scene. A 17-year-old was arrested nearby shortly afterwards.

He was taken to hospital and is since being held on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene.

Officers on patrol in the area continued their search and found the 21-year-old with a serious head injury.

He remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Police said the driver and three passengers in the taxi did not suffer any serious injuries.
