Bolton magistrate admits £22,000 fraud charges

A Bolton magistrate has pleaded guilty to making fraudulent expenses claims of more than £22,000.

Carlton Janson, of Bradford Park Drive, Bolton, admitted two counts of obtaining property by deception and two of fraud by false representation at Preston Crown Court.

The charges relate to £22,076 claimed in expenses between April 2006 and April 2011.

The 69-year-old will be sentenced at Burnley Crown Court on 18 February.
