M60 motorway van crash victim identified

A man who died after the van he was in overturned on the M60 motorway in Greater Manchester has been named as 25-year-old Christopher Lowe.

His Mercedes Sprinter hit the central reservation and overturned between Junctions 19 and 20, near Heaton Park, at about 06:10 GMT, on Tuesday.

Mr Lowe, from the Heaton Moor area of Stockport, had to be freed from the vehicle, and died in hospital.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that no other vehicles were involved.

Officers from GMP's serious collision investigation unit are investigating the crash.

PC Paul Hailwood said: "Our thoughts are with Christopher Lowe's family, who have understandably been left devastated following his death.

"We have officers supporting them as best we can at this difficult time and are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full facts around what happened."
