Gun alert at Salford Royal Hospital: Two arrested

A man believed to be armed with a gun made threats to hospital staff, police have said.

Officers found a weapon when they were called to Salford Royal Hospital on Friday evening.

They arrested a man and a woman, both on suspicion of possessing a firearm. The man was also held over a claim of false imprisonment.

Greater Manchester Police said the arrested pair remain in custody. No-one was reported injured.
