Man, 24, arrested over Salford prison van 'escape'

A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged escape of two people from a prison van in Salford.

Two prisoners were allegedly sprung from the van on Regent Road as it made its way to court on 30 April.

A 24-year-old man is being questioned after a warrant was executed at a house in Pendleton.

Ryan McDonald, 20, of no fixed address, and 31-year-old Stevie McMullen, from Salford, were arrested in May and charged with escaping lawful custody.
