The father of former England footballers Gary and Phil Neville has appeared in court accused of indecently assaulting a 46-year-old woman.

Neville Neville, 63, is alleged to have attacked the woman in Bury, Greater Manchester, in March.

At Bury Magistrates' Court, he spoke only to confirm his name and address.

Mr Neville, a former commercial director at Bury Football Club, has been bailed and is due before Bolton Crown Court on 1 July.

Outside court, his solicitor Simon McKay said Mr Neville "denies the allegation fully".

"Beyond this, because the matter is proceeding to trial, there can be no further comment," he said.
