Bolton blast: Man jailed for causing Harwood explosion

A man has been jailed for causing a blast at a house in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

The explosion on 13 January blew off part of Martin Middleton's hand, Bolton Crown Court was told.

Middleton, 27, of Hartfield Walk, Bolton, pleaded guilty to causing an explosion likely to endanger life.

He was jailed for three years after he admitted offences under the Explosives Act 1883. Several properties were evacuated during the incident.
