Littleborough therapist death: Man held in murder probe

A man has been held on suspicion of murdering a psychotherapist who was found at a house in Greater Manchester.

Glennis Brierley, 64, was found at a house on Calf Hey, Shore Road, Littleborough, early on Sunday.

A police spokesman said the mother-of-two was stabbed. A post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death is due to take place.

The 45-year-old man being questioned by police is believed to be Ms Brierley's son.

Ms Brierley was a counsellor and psychotherapist who had worked in private practice since 1997.
