Wythenshawe rapist Carl Weston beat and strangled victim
A man has been found guilty of raping a woman after beating and strangling her, spraying deodorant in her eyes and throwing hot tea over her.
Carl Weston, 42, of Wythenshawe, Manchester, attacked her after she refused to help him pay a £600 drugs debt, police said.
He was convicted of rape and false imprisonment after a two-week trial at Manchester Crown Court.
He earlier pleaded guilty to assault and will be sentenced in January.
Weston, otherwise known as Needham, was "extremely agitated" after being confronted in the street about the debt, police said, when he went to a house in Wythenshawe with the victim.
When she told him she did not have enough money to help him pay the debt he punched her so hard that he ripped the skin open between her top lip and nose, officers said.
Detectives described how he beat her repeatedly, hit her with a dust pan brush, strangled her, sprayed an aerosol deodorant in her eyes and threw hot tea over her head before shouting verbal abuse and raping her.
He then stopped her leaving the house to seek medical help before she later escaped.
