Salford drink-drive pursuit: Man arrested as seven hurt
Seven people were injured when a car driven by a suspected drink-driver crashed during a police pursuit.
The Volkswagen Polo was seen jumping a red light before colliding with a taxi at the Regent Road roundabout in Salford in the early hours of Sunday.
Four people inside the Polo and three others travelling in the taxi were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Polo driver, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and later released has been bailed.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the crash followed a "very short pursuit" after the car was seen being driven erratically and the driver had failed to stop.
In line with procedure, the patrol driver was automatically suspended from duties but following a review has now been reinstated, said GMP.
