Chorlton hit and run: Man struck by Porsche 'critical'

A 25-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a hit-and-run crash involving a sports car in Manchester.

The man was struck by a Porsche while crossing Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, near the Spread Eagle pub at about 22:40 GMT on Monday.

The driver of the black Porsche Panamera failed to stop, said police.

Police found the car burnt out on Brookburn Road, Chorlton. Police are yet to confirm if it had been stolen.

New Porsche Panameras cost from £64,000.

Sgt Lee Westhead urged anyone with information about the crash to contact Greater Manchester Police.

"Do not protect this person. We will investigate and take action against anyone who does.

"This is no time for misplaced loyalty - a young man is fighting for his life," he said.
