Two men sought over Salford pub shooting
Two men are being sought by police after a man was shot in the torso at a Salford pub.
The 49-year-old was found by police at the Ashley Brook on Liverpool Street at about 23:30 BST on Monday.
He was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said officers were searching for the men, who were seen going into the pub carrying firearms and dressed in hooded tops and balaclavas.
Det Supt Anthony Creely said police were trying to "establish the full facts behind what has happened and how this man came to suffer these injuries".
"I understand that residents will be concerned about this incident but we urge people not to speculate or jump to any conclusions about what may have happened.
"The nature of our enquiries means there will be a visible police presence at Liverpool Street [where] specially trained officers are at the scene and trying to piece together the facts."
