Five held over Salford pub shooting

Five people have now been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder a man who was shot in Greater Manchester.

The 49-year-old victim was found with gunshot wounds to his torso at the Ashley Brook pub in Liverpool Street, Salford, at about 23:30 BST on Monday.

After the arrest of a 22-year-old man and 17-year-old girl on Thursday, two women aged 47 and 23 and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested and bailed.

The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police believe he was shot seven times. He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Two men, wearing hooded tops and balaclavas, had been seen going into the pub carrying firearms and then leaving down an alleyway in the direction of Knutsford Street.
