'Serious sex attack' on 15-year-old girl in Hyde

A teenager was the victim of a serious sexual assault as she walked home from a friend's house in Greater Manchester.

The 15-year-old girl was attacked by a man on Mill Lane, Haughton Green, Hyde, at about 06:20 BST on Sunday.

Det Insp Julie Maxwell said: "The victim had been staying over at a friend's house but, as it was a light morning, she decided to go home early.

"As she was passing the Haughton Green nature reserve, she was approached by the male and assaulted."

Anyone with any information about the attack has been asked to contact Greater Manchester Police.
