Second man appears in court over Salford double death crash

A man has appeared in court charged with causing two deaths in a car crash in Salford.

Aaron Jones, 19, of north Manchester, and his passenger Amy Hobson, 22, from Salford, died in a three-car collision on East Lancashire Road on Sunday.

Steven Ward, of Swinton, was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

The 25-year-old appeared at Manchester City Magistrates' Court where he was remanded into custody.

He is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 8 July.

Carl Wood, 27, from Farnworth, faces the same charges and was remanded in custody at the same court on Tuesday.
