West Ham footballer Ravel Morrison has been released on bail after three days in custody on charges of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and her mother.

Mr Morrison faces two charges of common assault after an alleged incident involving Reah Mansoor, 19, and Parveen Mansoor, 39, on 27 July.

He was remanded in custody on Thursday, but his bail was approved at a Manchester Crown Court hearing earlier.

The 21-year-old from Urmston is next due before magistrates on Thursday.

After starting his career with Manchester United's youth teams, he was sold to West Ham in January 2012.

The midfielder, who has also played on loan for QPR and Birmingham City, has four England Under-21 caps.
