Firefighters rescue Bury man after head stuck in window

Firefighters were called after a man got his head stuck in a first-floor window amid fears he could break his neck.

The 28-year-old was trying to get into the house in Saxon Close, Bury, Greater Manchester, after his friend was locked out.

After becoming stuck, his friends broke in and began sawing through the window to try to free him.

Firefighters then arrived and helped the man to safety, at about 04:15 BST.

Watch Manager Gary Stredder said: "It was actually quite serious, as it was his head that was stuck. He was stood on a little window ledge and had he slipped he may well have broken his neck."
