A 17-year-old boy was raped by two men as he walked through a park in Salford.

The teenager was in Buille Hill Park, Eccles, at about 00.50 BST when he was approached by two men wearing shorts and hoodies, Greater Manchester Police said.

He was then thrown to the ground and raped by both men.

The men are described as white and in their twenties, and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Det Ch Insp Clare Devlin said: "The boy is obviously extremely distressed, having been subject to a vicious attack, and we are doing all we can to support him.

"There will be extra police patrols in the area in order to reassure the public."
