Shaquille Daniel canal death: CCTV of teen's last moments

CCTV footage showing the last movements of a teenager who died after being pulled out of a Greater Manchester canal have been released by police.

Shaquille Daniel, 17, was found in the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, near Trinity Street, Stalybridge on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died. His death is being treated as "unexplained".

Police do not believe a third party was involved but said they hope the images would "jog people's memories".

Det Ch Insp John Mazzolai said: "He was seen outside Coral bookmakers on Grosvenor Street at 2.50pm before the image was taken outside the entrance to Tesco at 3.05pm.

"Three minutes later, we received a 999 call to say he was in the canal."

Police said Shaquille, also known as Shaquille Lawson, was of mixed race who was wearing a dark grey gilet with a blue hood, dark grey hooded top, and grey jogging bottoms.
