Man fatally hit by car outside Carters Arms pub in Middleton

A man died when he was allegedly pushed into the path of a car following a row outside a pub.

The victim, 28, sustained serious injuries in Boardman Lane, Middleton, Greater Manchester, in the early hours and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police believe there was an altercation outside the Carters Arms pub between the victim and a group of men.

Det Supt Andy Peach said it appeared to be "an argument which has got out of control" and asked for any witnesses to get in touch.
