Crumpsall stab death: Murder suspect arrested

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man suffered fatal stab wounds in Manchester.

Police were called to Lidiard Street, Crumpsall at about 01:20 GMT after a report a man been attacked.

They found a 63-year-old man with knife wounds. He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary, where he died from his injuries.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned, police said.

Officers have described it as an "isolated incident". A post-mortem examination is expected to take place.
