Luxury cars seized in £10m international laundering probe
Nine people have been arrested and several luxury cars seized in a "£10m money laundering investigation" by police in Greater Manchester.
Raids took place in the early hours at addresses in Cheetham Hill, Salford and Hale Barns, Altrincham, Openshaw, Bolton, Oldham and Sale.
Seven men and two women aged between 27 and 50 were held on suspicion of international money laundering.
A vehicle transporter took away Porsches, a Range Rover and a Mercedes.
Police said designer handbags and shoes, perfume and a significant amount of cash and laptops were also seized.
All nine remain in police custody for questioning.
Det Supt Jason Hudson said: "This investigation into money laundering that has a reach far wider than just Manchester, with criminal operations reaching as far as Paris, and we believe as much as £10m may have been moved."
