Crumpsall stab death: Ujjal Singh died on 63rd birthday

The family of a man who died after being stabbed at a house in Manchester revealed he died on his 63rd birthday.

Ujjal Singh died due to a knife wound to the neck after he was found by police on Lidiard Street in Crumpsall in the early hours of Monday.

Two men, aged 37 and 53, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a police investigation.

Mr Singh's family praised "his ability to interact with his elders, his peers and also the younger generation".

He leaves behind his wife, four children, nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.

"He will be fondly remembered by all his family, he will never be replaced and never be forgotten," his family added.

A 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed until February pending further enquiries, Greater Manchester Police said.

A 53 year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and remains in police custody for questioning.

Det Insp Chris Wood said "the investigation will still continue until we fully understand exactly what happened".
