A 14-year-old girl was dragged into a car and raped by two men in Manchester.

The girl was walking along Slade Lane in the Longsight area of the city when she was bundled into the vehicle at about 15:45 GMT on Wednesday.

She was driven to King Edward Street where she was raped and sexually assaulted, before being driven around and subjected to further attacks.

The traumatised victim was eventually pushed out of the car in Levenshulme, where she made her way to a shop.

'Terrifying attack'

Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for the public's help to catch the attackers, both of whom were wearing distinctive purple contact lenses.

Det Ch Insp Andy Cunliffe said: "This was a terrifying attack on a young girl and I want to offer reassurance to the community that we are doing everything we can to support the victim.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the girl being dragged into the car.

"Were you walking near to where the incident took place and saw something suspicious? Or do you recognise the description of the offenders?"

The first man is described as white, slim, about 27, with black hair and a tattoo on his hip.

The second man is white, about 20, 6ft tall with dark blonde hair and of a large, muscular build. He had a tattoo of Jesus holding a baby on his left leg under the knee.

The black car had a Manchester City football scarf on the rear view mirror.
