Police have released a photograph of a man they are searching for after an 83-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Manchester.

Officers want to speak to Joginder Singh, 40, in connection with the attack, which happened in Moss Side on 13 January.

The woman was targeted after a man visited her home.

He had earlier befriended her over a number of weeks, Greater Manchester Police said.

She tried to escape the man by agreeing to walk with him and her two dogs in Alexandra Park, before a friend of hers called the police.

Det Insp Rebecca Duggan said: "We believe Singh lives on the streets and may have spent time in homeless shelters or soup kitchens.

"Perhaps someone who works in local shelters will have seen him.

"I would urge you to contact police as soon as possible if you recognise the man or have any information relating to the assault.

"I would also urge Singh, if you are reading this, to come and speak to us."
