Rochdale rape: Boy, 16, charged with street attack
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the rape of a woman who was attacked in a street in Rochdale.
The victim, 46, was attacked at about 01:30 GMT on Wednesday. She told police the attack took place at the junction of Birnam Grove and Argyle Street, after she was pushed to the ground.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with attempted rape.
He is due to appear before Bury and Rochdale Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Officers said any witnesses who may have seen anyone near the junction of Birnam Grove and Argyle Street should get in touch.
