Up to 2,000 pairs of trainers, worth about £250,000, have been stolen from a warehouse in Greater Manchester.

The Creative Recreation footwear was taken from an industrial unit on Pilsworth Road, Heywood, overnight on 12 February.

The thieves broke into the warehouse next door to the one holding the trainers and broke through an adjoining wall to gain access.

PC Rob Dobson said it was a "well organised and executed burglary".

He added that a "considerable amount of stock" had been taken and asked anyone who knows "where the items are being stored or sold from" to get in touch with police.
