Five women have been charged with perverting the course of justice over allegations of neglect at a care home.

Police said they are looking into the claims in connection with the death of an 86-year-old man at Lever Edge Care Home in Bolton on 9 January.

The women, aged between 22 and 63, were bailed to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court on 21 April.

A spokesman for the home said staff, residents and relatives are being kept fully informed during the inquiry.
