Woman charged after baby boy found abandoned in Wigan hospital toilets

A 26-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after an unconscious baby boy was found abandoned in the toilets of a hospital.

The baby was found at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan on Wednesday. Medical staff were later praised for saving his life.

Greater Manchester Police said Orsolya Anmaria Balogh has been charged with attempted murder.

She is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
