Baby found in hospital toilets: Woman faces attempted murder charge

A woman has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder a newborn baby found unconscious in the toilets of a hospital in Greater Manchester.

The baby boy was found at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan on Wednesday.

Staff at the hospital were praised by police for saving his life.

Orsolya Anmaria Balogh, 26, was remanded in custody by Manchester magistrates on Saturday to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 5 August.
