Ashton-under-Lyne murder suspect, 16, arrested

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was fatally injured outside a fast food restaurant in Greater Manchester.

The victim, in his 40s, died in hospital after the assault close to a McDonald's in Warrington Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, on Wednesday night.

The teenager was arrested earlier and remains in custody, Greater Manchester Police said.

Witnesses or anyone with information have been urged to come forward.
