Murder charge after stabbing at St Helens house
A man has been charged with murder after a 57-year-old man was found stabbed in a Merseyside house.
Police found Alex Toner at a property in Brynn Street, St Helens, in the early hours of Wednesday.
A post-mortem examination found he died from a single stab wound to the chest, a police spokesman said.
Paul Hayhurst, 37, also of Brynn Street, appeared before St Helens magistrates earlier. He did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody.
He will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 16 August.
