CCTV footage of two motorcyclists who were seen firing shots in a Liverpool street has been released by police, in a bid to trace them.

Shots were fired from the bikes in Scargreen Avenue, Norris Green, at 1550 BST on Tuesday. No one was injured.

Police believe a handgun was used. They are trying to establish whether another gun was involved.

Three teenagers, 13, 17 and 19, were arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail.

Supt Bill McWilliam, of Merseyside Police, said: "This latest incident shows a complete disregard for local residents.

"While we believe that this was a targeted incident, I think that we were incredibly lucky that a member of the public was not injured or even killed."

Anyone with any information has been urged to contact Merseyside Police.
