Murder charge over man found dead in Bootle house

A man has been charged with murder after the body of a man was found at a house in Merseyside.

Simon Makin, 35, was found dead at the house on Shelley Street, Bootle, at about 1930 BST on Thursday.

Merseyside Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Friday and he was later charged.

A spokeswoman said Darren Laird, from Claremont Road, Seaforth, is charged with his murder and is due to appear before South Sefton magistrates later.
