Man arrested over 91-year-old man's death in Liverpool

A man has been arrested after a 91-year-old was found fatally injured in a Liverpool street.

Donald Mclaren was discovered in Blackmoor Drive, near its junction with The Bryceway in West Derby, at about 2330 GMT on Tuesday.

He was taken to hospital but later died. A post-mortem investigation found he died from blunt force head trauma.

A man, 33, from West Derby was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about Mr Mclaren's death to contact them or Crimestoppers anonymously.
